Everyday Education

Hello. Is this thing on? Anybody out there? Hello.

I'm here. A little sleepy, but here nonetheless.

Have you missed me? Did you think I had run away? Fallen off the face of the earth?

Let's just say that mommy-hood is in full swing at the D House and I couldn't be happier.

(I could be a little more rested and a little more skinny, but not more happy).

Anywho, I wanted to educate you all today on the things I am learning (or rather re-learning) as I mommy a baby again.

1. It doesn't matter that you've just changed two poopy diapers in the last 20 minutes, he could be dirty AGAIN!

2. Laundry does not walk itself to the laundry room, wash itself or fold itself. It only multiplies on itself.

3. Poop stains are some times IMPOSSIBLE to remove.

4. It's ok to not take a shower...for several days.

5. Sleep is only a 5 letter word that others know about...someday I might again.

6. If you eat standing up, you can pretend all the calories are rushing to your feet and not your bottom.

7. When you ask an older sibling to tone down the noise, that only invites them to tone it up a notch.

8. Style and mom with a newborn are not in the same sentence.

9. One's chin can sometimes make a good teething toy.

10. Just because they make bottles and pacifiers, does not mean that your child will take them.

Do you feel educated?

Someday I may Return

Life's crazy...I would know.

I am 33 weeks pregnant, I have a 4 year old son, my Husband has a job that keeps him working 100+ hours a week and we just moved.

This might explain my anxiety/panic attacks over the last few weeks. I need to tell you about them. It will be good therapy for me.

But I can't today. Boxes are calling my name. Husband needs me to find him some underwear. And I plan to cook tonight for the 2nd time in 3 weeks.

Lofty goals...I think I can handle it.

The D-House Happenings

Well, August is almost halfway over and has been oh so busy here at the D-House.

From doctors appointments for Baby H growing in my tummy to quick trips to visit family, we've had lots going on. And guess what??? Our house sold...in 14 days.

So, the biggest thing going on at the D-House at this point is this:

Anyone have an overwhelming desire to pack?

If so, the D-House is your friend.

I'll be giving some sneak peaks into the new house over the coming weeks. Stay tuned...

I might be certifiably crazy

So, I think I might have lost my mind.

Let me set the stage for you and see if you agree.

First, I am almost 7 months pregnant.

Second, I am constantly chasing around a 4 year old boy.

Third, I have a husband who works many, many hours a week (upwards of 80-100).

And now I've decided that God is leading us to sell our house and buy a new one.

All in the span of about the next 45-60 days.

Yep, I seem even more crazy when I read it in print.

We have found a house that we love about 15 miles from where we currently are. We've made an offer (feeling that God is leading) and the offer was accepted. Now, we have 45 days to sell ours and the new house is ours.

So, today, at noon, if you could say a little prayer for us. It will be our first big "tour" of the house. Many realtors will be coming through today and we hope to have a lot of interest. The house has only been on the market for 3 days, but it seems like 3 years sometimes.

God is good and faithful and is leading and that's enough for me (but my OCD got to have it planned out to the very second personality sometimes still shows through).

Pray for us!

This and That

Hello All...

I'm still here. I'm sure that you are not.

But, in case that you are, I thought I would let you know why I have been sporadic lately in the blogging department.

1.) Baby H continues to grow and grow and grow in my tummy. Add 100% humidity everyday and temperatures that are reaching the 100 degree mark and you've got yourself one tired, hot, cranky momma.

2.) D-Man turned 4 this week (sniff, sniff). I cannot believe it. We are prepping for the big M.U.D. party (My U're Dirty party) on Saturday and cannot wait. I will be showing you pics next week...be on the lookout.

3.) Husband is having an incredibly busy work schedule which means I don't get much mommy downtime. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying.

4.) God is in control and some new changes might be in store for the D House. I'll keep you posted. (I love being able to say God is in control instead of me being in control...His control is soooooo much better).

5.) D-Man has had swim lessons all week. Oh my goodness gracious is all that I can say.

6.) We are still wishing we were on vacation...enough said.

I hope you guys have an awesome weekend (all 1 of you who's out there reading...thanks mom!)

I'll be back more regular next week!

Grains of Sand

I am back...or have you not noticed I've been gone?

We returned yesterday from a 9 day vacation to the great state of Florida...Destin to be exact.

There was lots of sun, sand and surf to occupy our time for many days and frankly, we are sad to be home.

But we ran out of money...and we still needed to eat...so we had to come home.

So while I unpack and try to get all the sand out of everything, I'll leave you with this picture. It sums up the week...time spent with my two favorite boys on the beaches of Destin.

I've got more stories to tell and things to share, but for now...

"I've got a couple grains in my pocket, got a couple loads that need clean. I'm trying to get my house back together, but vacation still is in my dreams."

Did I tell you I'm going on vacation?

Have I told you lately that I'm going on vacation?

Do you think that I'm excited?

Is it possible that this is the first time in almost 4 years that Husband has gotten to be completely away from his job for more than a couple of days a time?

Could it be that D-Man will be seeing the beach for the first time ever?

Do you think my pregnant body is excited about being in a swimsuit?

Stay tuned...

Pink or Blue?

Well...it's official...I have neglected the blog.

I know, I know, I know. You all have been beside yourself wondering where I have been, what I've been up to and how I have been feeling. You feel something missing each and everyday that I don't give you a mind boggling post, don't you?

I apologize, that's really all that I can say. I'm tired, I'm pregnant, it's hot, VBS has been consuming all my time and did I mention I'm pregnant?

Anyway, to catch you up on all the happenings here at the D House...

1.) We leave for vacation in exactly 9 day. I cannot wait. It can't come soon enough.

2.). VBS is in full swing! We've had more kiddos this year than last and can't wait to see what God does in the lives of these kids.

3.) D-Man very much enjoyed t-ball this summer and wishes that he had a game every night (mom doesn't, though...8 games in one season is enough).

4.) Did I mention we leave for vacation in 9 days?

5.) Oh and in case you were wondering, WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!

That's about all...here's a little picture of Baby H to send you on your way. I hope each of you is doing well. Tell me what's going on with you.

Until next time...

Oh Yes He Did

So Husband was trying to be cute the other night and flatter this ever-growing pregnant momma. His words to me were the following...

"If you were an apple, you would be delicious."

You got to love him...

I *Heart* my new toy

I have a new toy and all of you will be the lucky recipients of it's products from now on.

Are you interested?

Confused?

Intrigued?

Have any ideas?

Well...it is this

And although I had to sell my firstborn to buy it, I am completely and totally in love. Oh, you know I am kidding...I only had to sell his plasma for the next forty years. I kid, I kid!

It is something that Husband and I have been talking about for awhile and so we've been saving and saving and saving and finally got enough to buy it and some fun accessories (extra lenses and such) to go with it.

Now, if I can only figure out how to use it, we will be in business.

Seemingly Sane

These days, my life is filled with a growing tummy, VBS, lazy days by the pool and lots and lots of AC. From the outside looking in, my life is seemingly normal, seemingly typical, seemingly sane.

But do I really have it all together?

Is my OCD enough to keep me in line...keep things going?

Sometimes I wonder exactly what direction I am headed...I wonder whether or not I am coming or going.

And then I stop...and I listen...and I am reminded.

Stop to smell the roses, listen to the direction of my Father, reminded that I am loved and that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

And I press on...

All Smiles

This sunshine completely conveys my mood this week...happy, happy, happy! The sun is shining, the rain is not falling and I am happy.

Are you happy? Does the sun make you happy like it does me?

What I've confirmed

Well....I'm back.

Kansas City was great and the three of us (myself, Husband and D-Man)feel refreshed and relaxed. Well, maybe Husband and D-Man just feel that way...they don't have the laundry and the errands on their list that I do.

Anyway, one thing that I confirmed while we were away is this...I have a 100% tried and true boy on my hand.

And I have proof...

Our vacation/education trip (Husband had the education part) involved lots of boy things. Bungee trampoline and lots of water. This momma couldn't be happier watching D-Man grow and experience such fun things.

I'll be back tomorrow with more stories and maybe give you a glimpse of what my pregnant self is starting to look like...Happy Monday!

Song Debut

(To the tune of "The Adams Family")

Boys that are three
Boys that are three
Boys that are three, Boys that are three, Boys that are three
Their goofy and their smelly
They sometimes like to argue
The whining makes me crazy
Boys that are three

Boys that are three
Boys that are three
Boys that are three, Boys that are three, Boys that are three
They sometimes wake up grumpy
But then they give you smooches
The attitudes are many
Boys that are three

Impressive, no?

I think I have a ways to go...we are off to Kansas City in the morning. Check back for some updates and many pics to come next week.

The baby is taking brain cells

Did you have this feeling when you were pregnant?

It seems like the second I knew I was pregnant...BAM...brain cells began disappearing.

I'm forgetting things...and I don't forget much.

I'm less focused...and I stay pretty focused.

I'm less OCD...and I tend to be major OCD.

But you know what?

I'M HAVING A BABY!

I'M HAVING A BABY!

I'M HAVING A BABY!

And the other stuff doesn't matter. So, hang with me over the next few weeks as I come out of morning sickness and night sickness and all day sickness (hopefully) and return to your regularly scheduled program.

On the road again...

Hey my bloggy friends...

I know that my posting is sporadic right now, but all-day sickness and tiredness on top of my normal routine is taking up most of my time. Bear with me...I will return.

In the meantime, I'm on my way up North to the Women of Joy conference in Branson, MO. I am looking forward to a great time of worship and fellowship with 3,000 Christian women (especially my favorite MIL and 2 of my favorite SILs).

I'll be back on Monday!

Thanks and More

I want to first of all say thanks for all the sweet wishes and prayers on yesterday's post! It truly is an amazing time in our lives and we are so thankful to God for His blessings.

Now, onto a D-Man update that I'm sure you have been waiting patiently for.

He's officially obsessed and the Queen B couldn't be happier.

Nascar Racing has got his attention and won't let go. He drives a Home Depot race car outside and works on it like the pit guys (as he calls them).

He prefers to watch Nascar on tv instead of cartoons and will watch for hours with me (yes, my name is Amy and I watch Nascar).

He got a remote control Home Depot car for Easter and was thrilled that the Easter Bunny would know exactly what he wanted...could it be he's been asking for this particular car for months EVERY SINGLE TIME we enter the doors of Wal-Mart?

And he makes me announce...as in announce his races. Oh, and I have to wave the flag.

But, isn't he the cutest thing that you've ever seen? Queen B, are you so proud?

Saltines, Sprite & Sleep

These are all things one might give their child if they've been sick...they can also be what this pregnant momma has been living on for the past almost 12 weeks.

That's right...we are pregnant!!!!!!

God is so good and has blessed us and we couldn't be happier.

It hasn't been an easy first trimester...weekly blood tests to check levels, altering of Synthroid to make sure my thyroid is working properly, a scare at 6 weeks, daily progesterone suppositories and lots and lots of nausea (anyone want some?), but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Did I tell you that we are having a baby????

D-Man already wants to know when the baby is coming out...it's going to be a long summer; and, the questions of how the baby got in there and how the baby is coming out have already started. But isn't it wonderful?

Because...we are having a baby!!!!!!

I ask for your earnest prayers for me and the baby for the next 28 weeks. I hope you will embark with us on the ride and be able to see the glory of God shining through.

And I leave you with this parting picture of our sweet one at 6 weeks (doesn't show much, but to us it means the world.) Isn't modern science amazing?

Glory be to God who has blessed us with this miracle.

Those things that make me smile...

Here are some things that make me smile today...

1) That D-Man is sitting in my lap telling me he's still my baby.

2) That the tomb is empty...Jesus reigns!

3) D-Man's sweet laugh.

4) Husband loving me so much.

5) Reese's chocolate eggs...more than one to be exact.

6) Easter Sunday!

What makes you smile today?
